Weekly Highlights: December 23-29

NYC

I’m back from the holidays and hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating – whatever that may look like for you! As we wind down the year, I’m so excited for everything 2025 has in store. This week was pretty quiet (hello, holiday slow-down), but I still managed to check a few things off my list that I had to share with you guys.

Lower East Side Gems – Katz's Deli
Let’s start with the iconic Katz's Delicatessen. Honestly, Katz’s needs no introduction – this NYC staple has been around since 1888, and it’s still going strong. Known for its legendary pastrami sandwiches, this place is an experience all on its own. The atmosphere, history, and THE SANDWICH all live up to the hype. I can confidently say this was the best pastrami I’ve ever had. Period. If you haven’t been, put it on your list for 2025.

Supermoon Bakehouse – A Sweet Surprise
Next up – Supermoon Bakehouse. This bakery has been calling my name for a while, and I finally made it over. Supermoon is known for its incredibly artistic pastries, blending flavors and designs in ways that feel part art, part dessert. They’re famous for their "croiffin" – a croissant-muffin hybrid that’s as good as it sounds. I tried the seasonal croiffin, and it was a 10/10 experience. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

Immersive Theatre – Sleep No More at The McKittrick Hotel
Later in the week, I finally experienced Sleep No More at the McKittrick Hotel. If you haven’t heard of it, Sleep No More is an immersive theatre experience loosely based on Macbeth but set in a noir 1930s atmosphere. You wander freely through the space, piecing together scenes and storylines at your own pace. It’s eerie, beautiful, and mesmerizing. Sadly, Sleep No More is closing forever on January 5, so if you haven’t seen it yet, I feel for you – it’s truly a spectacle.

That’s all for this week! I’ll check back in after the new year. Wishing you all a fun and restful end to 2024. Here’s to more adventures in 2025!
