Weekly Recap: April 14-20
Spring has officially arrived in New York City, and wow—it felt glorious. After what felt like the longest winter, I’m back outside, soaking up every ounce of sunshine and seasonal energy this city has to offer. This week was filled with good friends, girly cocktails, floral overload, and an Easter Parade that seriously gave main character energy. Let’s get into it.
Tuesday Catch-Ups & Cozy Cocktails
On Tuesday night, I met up with an old friend at Dante in the West Village—one of my forever go-tos for an effortlessly chic night out. Whether you're catching up with a girlfriend or sipping something flirty on a date, Dante never misses. I went with a mocktail (my usual) and can confidently say the drinks still deliver, alcohol or not.
Thursday at The Nines & Temple Bar
Later in the week, I finally made it to The Nines, a swanky bar I’ve had bookmarked forever. The red interiors? Sexy. The live music? A total A+. It’s one of those spots where you feel like you’ve stepped into a glamorous lounge in a movie. If you haven’t been, definitely go at least once for the ambiance alone.
Afterwards, we wandered over to Temple Bar, which offered a more lowkey but still elevated vibe. It's relaxed, moody, and totally perfect for a chill nightcap.
Saturday Strolls, Matcha Misses & Mocktail Hits
Saturday was the real showstopper—blue skies and 80 degrees meant I was outside. We originally tried to visit 12 Matcha, the trendy new matcha spot with all the buzz, but the line was cut off. So we defaulted to Cha Cha Matcha, and… it was mid. Cute for the photo op, but I wouldn’t go back.
The day was still packed with joy: we explored Soho, breezed by pop-ups, popped into Happier Grocery, admired the dreamy back garden at Ladurée, thrifted, people-watched, and yes—witnessed a very eventful moment in Chinatown (a bag-snatching gone wrong).
I wrapped up Saturday with friends at Clemente Bar, and the mocktails here were elite. I tried one and immediately added it to my “Best Mocktails in NYC” list—joining favorites from Chelsea Living Room (hibiscus margarita is a must!), Superbueno, and Barrio Chino.
Sunday in Bloom: Central Park & The Easter Parade
Sunday was pure joy. I wandered through Central Park, and as a die-hard tulip girl, this was heaven. Tulips everywhere. Sunshine. Spring breeze. Peak serotonin.
Then I headed to one of my favorite NYC traditions: the Easter Parade. Held every Easter Sunday since the 1870s, it’s all about big energy and even bigger hats—fascinators, flower crowns, bunny ears, and outrageous fashion fill Fifth Avenue from St. Patrick’s Cathedral upward. Think of it as NYC’s whimsical, street-style fashion show of spring.
Looking Ahead
Now that the warm weather is here, I’m planning on spending a lot more time outside—expect more eventful weekends, more mocktail discoveries, and more NYC recs from yours truly.
