Weekly Highlights: October 14-20

NYC

Saturday kicked off with my continued quest to find my favorite yoga studio in NYC. This week, I tried St. Marks Yoga. While the vibe was great, I still lean towards Bhakti Yoga, which has a more spiritual and intimate energy that resonates with me. I’m excited to try Humming Puppy next, as it may offer that deeper, soulful experience I want.

After yoga, I strolled through East Village, which was buzzing with energy thanks to the gorgeous mid-October weather. My friend and I set out to find brunch, trying popular spots like Café Maud and Smör, but both were packed. We eventually landed at Café Mogador, which gave off serious Roma Norte vibes from Mexico City—an effortlessly cool, bustling atmosphere.

Next up was the Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade. A longstanding NYC tradition, this parade features some of the most creative dog costumes you’ll ever see. Despite the crowds, it was worth it! If you’re considering enrolling your dog next year, register early, as I hear spots fill up fast.

Later in the day, I checked out a 260 Sample Sale, something I’ve become fascinated with since moving to the city. Different designers offer discounted pieces each week; you can sometimes get really lucky with what you find.

Sunday was another sunny day, perfect for a run on the Upper West Side. I made my way to Central Park, stopping at the Reservoir, which has one of the most picturesque views in the city.

All in all, it was a beautiful fall weekend in NYC. The weather made everything feel extra special, and I can’t wait to see what next week brings!
